Getting started

What is MediaHub?

Understand the MediaHub app, supported media sources and the difference between normal and managed deployments.

MediaHub in one sentence

MediaHub is a clean TV and desktop interface for media services you already use. It can connect to an IPTV provider through the Xtream Codes API and can also connect to Jellyfin, Emby and Plex.

MediaHub does not provide channels, subscriptions or media content. You supply your own legitimate services and credentials.

Normal MediaHub

The normal MediaHub app is independent of MediaHub Management. For IPTV, the user enters the server address, username and password directly in the app. Media-server connections are also configured directly by the user.

Managed MediaHub

A managed MediaHub build is generated by a self-hosted MediaHub Management deployment. It can receive provider configuration, branding, feature policy, restrictions, optional Jellyfin/Emby addresses and a managed VPN profile from that deployment.

The Management panel remains a configuration/control plane. IPTV, EPG, playback and personal-media traffic connect directly from MediaHub to the configured services.
