Privacy & security

Your media stays between you and the services you choose.

MediaHub is a client application for connecting to your own IPTV service and personal media servers. This policy explains what information MediaHub processes, what is stored on your device, and when information is sent to services you choose to connect.

At a glance

Built without advertising or tracking.

MediaHub needs connection and playback information to work, but it is not built around profiling, advertising or developer analytics.

01

Local account storage

Connection details and session information are stored in MediaHub's app-private storage so your accounts can be restored on future launches.

02

Direct connections

IPTV and personal media traffic goes directly between your device and the service or server you choose. MediaHub does not proxy that traffic through a MediaHub service.

03

No advertising profile

MediaHub does not include advertising networks, behavioural tracking, or developer-operated analytics and telemetry services.

1 · Scope

About this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the public MediaHub client applications and the MediaHub website at media-hub.co.uk. MediaHub is software for connecting to media services that you already have access to. MediaHub does not sell IPTV subscriptions, provide television channels, or operate a public media catalogue.

Your IPTV provider, Jellyfin server, Emby server, Plex account/server, VPN provider and any other service you choose to connect have their own privacy practices. Those services are responsible for how they handle information they receive from you.

2 · App data

Information MediaHub processes

To provide its features, MediaHub may process information that you enter, information returned by a connected service, and information created locally by the app.

Account & connection detailsServer addresses, IPTV usernames and passwords, Jellyfin/Emby credentials, service user IDs, display names, session/access tokens and similar authentication information.
Plex account informationPlex may return an account user ID, username/title and, where used as a fallback account label, an email address as part of the TV link and server-discovery flow.
Device/client identifierMediaHub creates a client identifier used when identifying the app to supported media-server services.
Playback & app activityPlayback position, watched state, Continue Watching information, favourites and similar app state used to provide MediaHub features.
Search termsSearch text you submit is processed so MediaHub can search the IPTV or media-server source you selected.
3 · Storage

Where app information is stored

MediaHub stores the account/session and preference information it needs inside the app's private local storage on your device. This allows connected accounts and app state to be restored when you reopen MediaHub.

Storage protection differs by platform. We therefore do not claim that every locally stored value is separately encrypted by MediaHub on every supported platform. Your operating system provides the app sandbox/private storage boundary, and some MediaHub platforms may additionally use platform-specific secure storage.

You can remove locally stored account information by signing out or removing the relevant account in MediaHub. Uninstalling MediaHub removes the application's local data according to the behaviour of your device platform.

4 · Connected services

When information leaves your device

When you connect an IPTV account or personal media server, MediaHub sends the information needed for that request directly to the service you selected. This can include credentials or access tokens, the MediaHub client identifier, searches, media requests, playback progress and watched/favourite state where the connected service supports those features.

These transfers are necessary to perform actions you request. MediaHub does not send your IPTV or media-server credentials to the MediaHub developer or route your media streams through a MediaHub-operated backend.

Connection security depends on your service.MediaHub supports secure HTTPS connections, but some user-configured IPTV or local media-server addresses may use HTTP. Information sent over an HTTP connection is not protected by TLS while in transit.
5 · Tracking & advertising

What MediaHub does not do

The current public MediaHub client does not include developer-operated advertising, behavioural tracking, third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, crash-reporting services or telemetry services. MediaHub does not use an advertising identifier to profile you.

MediaHub does not intentionally collect your precise or approximate location, contacts, phone logs, calendar, health or fitness information, payment information, photos, personal files, SMS/MMS messages or web-browsing history.

6 · Website

MediaHub website data

The public MediaHub website does not use advertising or behavioural analytics. Like most websites, the web server and hosting platform may create technical access or security logs containing information such as an IP address, browser/user-agent information, requested page, date/time and response status. These logs may be used for operating, securing and troubleshooting the website.

If you contact MediaHub by email or through the community, the information you choose to provide is used to respond to your request and is handled through the relevant email or community service.

7 · Retention & control

How long information is kept

App data stored locally remains on your device until it is replaced, you sign out/remove an account, you clear the app's data, or you uninstall MediaHub. Information held by an IPTV provider or media-server service is controlled by that service and its own privacy policy.

Website technical logs are retained only as required for routine hosting, security and troubleshooting. Communications you send to MediaHub may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide support, maintain a record of the request, or meet legal obligations.

8 · Children

Not directed to children

MediaHub is not designed or directed specifically at children. The public app may connect to third-party media libraries selected and controlled by the user, and MediaHub does not control the content made available by those third-party services.

9 · Your rights

Questions and privacy requests

Where applicable, data-protection law may give you rights relating to personal information held by MediaHub, including rights to request access, correction or deletion. Most application account/session data described above is held locally on your own device or by the third-party media service you selected rather than by MediaHub.

For privacy questions or requests relating to information held directly by MediaHub, contact support@media-hub.co.uk.

10 · Changes

Updates to this policy

This policy may be updated when MediaHub features, supported platforms or privacy practices change. The latest version will always be published on this page, with the last-updated date shown above.
