What Management supplies
The Managed VPN page can store and deliver:
- An
.ovpnprofile. - A friendly profile name.
- Optional VPN username/password credentials.
MediaHub imports the provider profile into its existing protected VPN storage and makes the connection locally through its VPN engine.
What Management does not do
The Management server does not carry or proxy VPN traffic. After configuration is delivered, the device connects directly to the VPN provider.
Android consent
Android's first-time VPN permission prompt is a platform requirement and still appears when appropriate.
Profile updates
Replacing the managed .ovpn profile in the panel can be picked up by compatible installed managed apps without rebuilding the APK.
